Halfway through 89 GM changed the design of the locking pins ... earlier style is just a metal shaft the later style is the metal shaft with spring loaded plastic sleeve to help centre and position the tops better when installed.
The earlier style fit the later style however the body mounts need to be readjusted as the shafts are in slightly different locations.
Yours being a early built TTA if I remember correct would have the early style so same as the 87 however I would make sure to get pictures of the locking mechanism (so the pins that protrude when you close the tops) and compare to yours ...
Thank you, Jan! I will go see them in person, a gentleman has them brand new and bag from GM since 87'. He no longer has the car and is looking to sell them. Thanks for the info will let you know if I purchase them.
