Tire recomendations please

I just purchased a TTA and I should have it within a few weeks. I know that it needs tires really bad. Any recomendations for good tires? I would like ones that would work well in the rain as well just in case I get caught in a storm. I know the factory Goodyears on my 87 GTA did not do very well in the rain.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You know, that's tough to answer because everyone has a favorite brand.

I personnaly would look for a couple things in a tire for the TTA(which I did) I look for the lowest treadwear rating(sticky as they can come for street use) and I like directional tread patterns. If it meets both and I still have to choose, I look for the smoothest sidewall. That may sound goofy but I don't like rim protection built up on the bead of the tire and I don't like serrated sidewall patterns that are hard to keep clean.

I have a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's on my GTA and I absolutely love them. I just put a set on the wifes Altima I liked them so much

When I had my car I went with BFG G-force KDW. KDW stands for Key feature, Dry and Wet. Worked well on the street and track and very well if caught in the rain. I could get up to about 50% throttle in the wet before they'd start spinning. Check out Tire Rack and compare available sizes and features head to head.
