Tirerack.com has Toyo Poxes R888 255/50/16 tires on sale for $89.29. Not sure if anyone has used this tire or not yet on the rears, but some insight would be great on these. I went ahead and order 4. I figure for the price alone I would take the chance compared to spending $200 for MT tires. I also order the firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 tires from them as well since they were under 110 including shipping each.

that sounds like a super price for the R888s... aren't they basically a road-race compound?
I autocrossed my Tiger with some RA1s (I think?) for a few years, they were great

I'm very pleased with the summer Firehawk Indy 500s on the TTA so far, but all I've done with them is regular cruising.

Firestone Indy 500 Wide Oval has a 70 dollar rebate as well, on the purchase of 4. You don't have to buy through Tire Rack - its a Firestone promotion. The rebate runs until 7/15/15
I am picking up a set to replace my old Goodyears.

I just bought four 275/40/17's for my 99 TA last month from TireRack. Should have waited.

I was holding out as I figured they would have a rebate coming up. The TTA is undriveable at this point on the old hard tires.

The R888 are suppose to be a road/race tire so I'm curious to see how the look and handle. The fir hawk are on order and might take some time to get. They are like 98.99 before shipping but after they are around $110. #1001 needs tires bad in the mean time there is a lot of other work that still needs to be done. However i justed wanted to throw this information out there just in case anyone else was interested.

I have the firehawk 500 on 1160 . No complaints from me. I'm sure like most of us the tires will rot before they wear out.
