tranny questions

Ok guys I have a few tranny questions for you.
1 on the rear of the trans is a blue tag - does this tag only ID the trans or is the cars vin on the tag also. There is a TA F on the top with numbers and letters etched on the bottom.
2 I think the trans was changed because my speedometer shows 50 mph at 1800 rpm ( I saw in an article at 1800 rpm I should be doing 60 mph
3 To correct this do I have to change a gear or is this controled electronically.

Its the right tranny should be BRF coded mine had a blue tag also

Mine came out of the car with TA + something or other on the tag. I recall it did not have the BRF like the TR has. I am not sure what else is on there. I willbe under the car some time soon. If you still need ID info e-mail me and I can get exactly what is on mine.

TTA's have TA blue tag, Tr's and GN's have BR orange/brown tag.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if the cars vin is on the tranny? I would like to know if I have the original transmission.
