the release and the pull down should be on the same fuse since it's built into the same part (I'm not positive on this just guessing). If your pull down isn't working then the motor is probably burnt up, it's a fairly common problem. Here's a link to all of the parts that are needed to repair it Top-DownSolutions.com
You guys are awesome! I was gonna ask the same question. My hatch took a dump the day before I put it away for the winter. My friend who had a third gen camero said it was a common problem. I want to get it fixed as soon as it warms up.
Actually there are two fuses involved with the hatch release, ctsy fuse in fuse block, powers the pull down relay(dash release circuit only), and the hatch fuse located on the side of the fuse block that powers the pull down motor itself. The last problem I had was actually a bad wire in the position switch connector.
There are two circuits to look at if your having trouble with the hatch. the dash switch release circuit is like any trunk release, it unlatches the hatch with a release solinoid actuated by the dash switch (the parking brake must be on for this circuit work). The trunk key is a mechanical release using a short cable to unlatch the latch. The hatch pull down is basically a closed sircuit. when the hatch is released the hatch switch energises the motor to raise the latch. when the hatch is closed into the latch, the hatch position switch lowers the hatch pull down.
THANKS, MY CTSY FUSE IS GOOD, IF I PUT POWER TO THE MOTOR IT GOES UP AND DOWN FINE. I WAS ALIGNING THE HATCH ASSEMBLY WHEN IT HAPPENED. NO POWER BACK THERE, MUST BE A FUSE, I LOOK FOR THE ONE NEXT TO THE FUSE BLOCK.
