TTA Air Filter?

So, I have a K&N cone type air filter that was already in the car, but its very dirty,looks crunched (too long) it its currant location, I also noticed the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor laying in the tray below the air filter w/what looks to be a broken tip. The part #on the K&N I took out is either F030A6 or B046A6, but both those numbers come up no good on the K&N web site.

I read that the K&N RE-0910 cone filter is the better fit/function for our cars, is the correct? Or is there a better one? Or would I be better putting the stock air box back in, with a K&N stock replacement filter & new IAT sensor? Thoughts?

You can always take a hose and clean the filter. Use some mild soap and a scrub brush. Let it dry out a few days and load it up with K&N oil. They sell a kit. I do mine every few years.

You need to get that IAT up and running. Drill a hole in the rubber neck of the filter and plug it in. It can effect the tune and the way the car runs.

I already cleaned it, but its to long. What every body else running?

I run the washable cone style that's "off the shelf" from Advance Auto. It's shorter than the K&N and considerablly cheaper.

lesson learned though...too much oil and you'll throw that MAF out of whack. And I don't care what brand washable filter you run,just go easy on the oiling.

I was thinking the same thing about the IAT sensor, looks like I need to replace it though, since the top of it looks broken. It will be up & running again soon.

I hear ya on the to much oil in the air filter. I actually got a great deal on the correct K&N & I picked up the matching pre-charger also. AJUSA knocked 10% off & got free shipping to boot.

I haven't oiled my k&n filter. My father has never oiled his. They seem to do fine

I guess it depends on the area your in and where it's placed. I actually have a K&N in every car and truck I own ( 7 to be exact ) I've found the daily drivers with the covered air box the K&N lasts and looks great for almost ever. But like on my GN I have Mark's cold air kit so the air filter is hanging down almost below the bumper and that one will only last maybe 3 years before it gets clogged and filthy looking. The TTA has one in the factory air box and it looks like new. That was in there when I got the car so who even knows how old that one is.

One thing is for sure they are the only way to go!
