TTA auto door remote?

I was told this was for the TTA, but I have never seen a remote door lock. Does any one have any info on this. thanks

i don't think? that was an option on the 1989 F-body car......
but i could be wrong......

Not 100% sure here....but all the scouring I've done through the factory 89 and 92 F car service manuals makes no mention and shows no wiring for any remote door locking system.

As a caveaut, the 82-92 power door locks have to be one of the worst features on them,if your one that doesn't use them much,like me, they never seem to fully lock on the first,second or even third try.I always end up manually pushing the slide to "lock"

our friendly Mr. Goodwrench car sellsman would install a margarita blender if GM had a part number for one and a buyer had the need. sure a dealer could install a generic GM remote system over the parts counter, but that key fob pictured in the first post is Pontiac specific and i don't think ANY 1989 Firebirds rolled off the Van Nuys assembly line with a factory installed keyless locking system.......there just wasn't a factory RPO to the best of my knowledge.....

One of the best things I've found to help the door locks, is removing the door latch, giving it a super cleaning in a parts washer, air dry, lube well and reinstall. I have gotten 5 of my cars working great by doing this.
They just get gummed up and full of stuff..

I did something similar on my 82. I disassembled the whole door when the car went for paint. I cleaned all the linkages, the window tracks, and regreased. I also put in new power door lock motors and window motors. Everything works like new now. The parts get gummed up with dirt and grease and need a good cleaning after 20-30 years.
