TTA detent

WS6

Stay thirsty my friends
I've got 3 shift gate kits for 82-92 GM F body so far unspoken for, improves your control manually shifting your car. With modification it will make your stage right style transbrake easier to use by allowing you to safely go from 1st directly to 3rd gear, letting the tranny do it's own shifting while preventing you from slamming right up into neutral.Works with 700R4 and our 200R4

Comes with everything but the tools to install it.
$62 shipped to the lower 48 states.

PM me if interested. Some of you may be on the spoken for list from TB and I'm ready to get these out to you also.

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/turbo-trans-am-tech/311005-detent-plate.html

This will get you started, but basically the problem we 3rd gen guys run into is that there are few options for an aftermarket shifter that works well with a transbrake. There's the Dualgate II which his a "his and hers" shifter and doesn't really go straight from 1st right up into 3rd.And the mega shifter that is a ratchet style that has the same limitations.
What is needed is for the shifter to positively shift from 1st into 2nd then into 3rd then onto 4th without overshifting and missing one or more gear stops or worse yet fly straight up into neutral from 1st.

The detent plate replaces the factory slide and has postive stops at 2nd and 3rd and 4th.It sisters up to the OEM detent and using a combination of holding the button in or releasing the button it stops at 2nd or at 3rd or at 4th with NO overshifting.

It is cleverly designed to allow "stage right" style transbrake users(non electric) to put the shifter into 1st and thereby engaging the T-brake. Then with the T-brake set all that is needed is to slam the shifter forward and it will stop at 3rd which is the most common way that turbo buick guys race(meaning leaving it in 3rd for the whole run).

Yet it still can be used to positively manually shift the car 1st-2nd-to 3rd-to 4th if the user wants to do it that way. That is accomplished by pushing and holding the button in and pushing it forward it will stop at 2nd,then release the button and push it forward it will stop at 3rd and so on and so on.

Clear as mud,right?

Folks...I still have a few of these if your respective "better halves" are looking for Christmas gifts.

I have installed mine and it works well.

Looking through what I'm bringing to BPG I still have 3 new sets of these detents to sell. $62 each at the show.$67 delivered by mail.

We're tentively going to install Jason's in his car,at the show, so he can do transbrake launches all weekend long:poke:and finally get that 9-bolt to give up the ghost.

So you can install yours there too.

If I have time before the show I will be trying to get the J-rod re made out of aluminum to alleviate some of the detent "hang" of the shifter button that some of the guys have experienced. It was originally designed out of mild steel and is much heavier than the factory plastic piece, which cause the detent to not kick up all the way and thereby preventing the key from fully turning back in the "key out" position.

Mine did it for about a dozen cycles or so but hasn't done it since. My lazy fix was to simply flick the shifter button and the key turned back as normal.I guess it has worn-in so to speak.

Any hoooo....I don't know if I'll ever make these again and even if you don't have transbrake(I dont) it still makes the sloppy factory shifter act and function and feel like an aftermarket shifter with positive engagement stops.
