TTA's value question

As I have just entered in the involvment and search for one of these cars,I see they are all over the place for miles,from 1,2,3k 8-12k, 16-25,and on up from there.
I would not want one with the 1,2,3k as now I would not want to drive it,let alone change anything on it.
8-12k seems like a good miles to have as you still can take it out and enjoy it,but sparingly.And is still at the miles that you should keep extra care for it,not modifing,or racing it.
16-24k on up,now I would'nt care doing the same things I have done to my GN to go low 12's or so.
And,just me,I would probably not want one with more than 30k on it,and want one all orig,def orig paint,no mods,etc.
I geuss what I'm trying to ask is 1. Are there huge numbers in the pricing that you all see cars sell for ranging from the miles I said?
2.Am I accurtate in saying about how you treat them,to help keep your low mile car more worthy of selling at a later time5,10+ years if at all .
I also,have changed tune in my life,where instead of keeping something in a timecapsul chamber,and not using,you end up dying and the next person gets it and has more fun with it than you ever did,and for what?So would like to use and enjoy one of these rather than let it sit.

I know this doesn't answer your question but in my opinion, and this is for cars in general, the best deals are not in the low mile examples and the best way to enjoy a car is to actually use it. Buy what you like and do what you want with it :) Some of the things I've done with mine, such as the power tour, LOTS of drag racing, and multiple cross country trips are worth more to me in life experience than the lowest mile TTA in the world lol

I have to have a car to enjoy, being able to put some miles on it a year.

If I had one that just sit, I might as well have been a coin collector.

Well if mine would have had extreme low miles, I sure it would have some miles on it without bothering me.:cool1:
 
Thanks guys,thats where I'm at,I love low mile orig cars all shiny and mint,clean eng bays and undersides,but on another note if I'm spending some $$$$$ to have one,I absolutely want to enjoy what I just spent money on.
I geuss finding one with 10-15k would be nice because if I did use and enjoy it,I only would probably put on 1k a year or so,and would take some time before it got into the mid 20's for miles.But yes,if the right car comes along,real nice shape and price to go with it for one already in the 20's I would show interest.
I had one in mind,nice miles and nice price,just alittle far for me to go get.Would love to find one around me here on the North East coast.They should come up every now and then,so I'll keep my eye out.
 
A mid range mileage car that has been well maintained and loved will provide you with just as much enjoyment and a low mileage car, but save you a few dollars. Mine has 52k and it looks good and runs good. It was never thrashed on. I dont feel bad driving it and only put about 500 miles a year on it. Those 500 miles are very enjoyable.:thumbup:
 
my tta has 12200 miles i bought it last fall it is fun two drive :cool1::cool1:ttarider i put 125 miles on it from september to end october .
 
I bought my 87 GN in 92 with 49k on it,1st year I put 22k on it having a blast enjoying it.Since then it now has 82k on it,and always stored indoors,never driven in winter,bad weather etc.Eng bay looks like a 20k mile car,I really keep up on it.
Put maybe 150 passes down the 1320 with it,slipping on the 1-2 shift,and boost not staying at desired setpoint,still ran a 1.65 60',[email protected].
I do body/paint so in 96 I painted it,treated it to all NOS trimmings,including NOS GN rims.Just bought a set of the newly released from Kelsey tire,repo Goodyear 215/65 tires for it for this spring,can't wait!!!! Would'nt doubt if they come out with the tires for TTA's next.
 
There was a Gatorback discussion over on TGO and a rep from Kelsey tire chimed in to say that they were thinking of reproducing them. I would buy a set, but I feel that the tires they sell are a bit overpriced.

Yes,very expensive,but compared to what.I had looked for a set of the 215/65's for my GN and people that have 1-2k mile take off's or NOS sets want $1,800-1,900.
Ask any member here with there low mile take off's what they would want for them.
Nothing captures the look of a car than the correct tire that is ssupposed to be on it IMO.Musclecars with the Goodyear Polyglass,killer !!!!!
NTM,they are new,not 26 year old possibly dry rotted tires.NTM,updated compound of the rubber.
Mine listed at $325.00 each,got them thru a friend that has an account with them for $270.00 each,yes pricy but will love the look once they are on.
 
When I was as Coker Tire display,
At SEMA this last year, I asked about it.
The guy was rude, and said that those year Corvettes were the worst ever made, and that they have no following.
I told him that the Corvette tire was a different size than the Trans Am, Formula, Z-28 those years.
He then told me that they don't make Redneck tires.
This was the first time that someone at SEMA got me pissed off.
I don't ever intend to buy from Coker ever.
And I make sure to tell everyone about it as well.

Goodyear Eagle F1 are made in the stock size as is Firestone's Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500. Both are very highly rated tires.

Other than the fact that they were the original equipment, I don't see the appeal of Gatorbacks. In 20 years there must have been some improvement in compound and tread design.
 
Oh,and to go back on my orig question,I am seeing real nice low mile cars 9k-14k miles priced and selling in the high teens to low twentys.
Am I correct?Is this where abouts I should plan on spending for one with those miles?
If so,would'nt and should'nt cars with 20k miles on up start to be priced alittle cheaper?I would prefer one with 10-12k miles as it would take me 10 years to get it up to 20k.
Either way,if I find a real nice stock,orig paint 24k mile car,would def consider it.
 
Too late! We already jacked your thread.

TTAs regularly sell between $10k and $20k depending on the mileage and condition. Obviously there will be sales higher and lower than that range as well.

For a 20-year-old car, 20k miles isn't really the right threshold for prices to start dipping noticeably. Try 50k miles.

With your criteria, expect prices closer to $20k or more.

whatever you decide (hi or low mil) i dont think they will be as cheap as they are now again

And to get my facts straight,there are 1,555 TTA's total, 187 Festival cars,24 hardtops?
And are Festival cars more pricy because of the less in production,because of their cloth,possibly being used in certain events,etc?I actually like the cloth int alittle better.
I'm sorry if maybe I'm asking questions that all of you seem to hear all the time with new people.

Everyone was a newb at one time. If you can, read alot of the old threads about history, tech, etc. You will gain much information.
