Turbo/wastegate Lines To Y Fitting.

Evening friends, I am looking for a a source to find the hose/tube that connect to the Y fitting off the turbo. The only source I could find was through Johns Performance but, apparently he's no longer in business. The car has been neglected for quite some time due to living arrangements and I now finally have a garage which is secure. My view on it over the last couple years where it has been parked is, the less people know its there, the better.. where it has been parked lately you would think it was a barn find (though thoroughly covered and not exposed) but crime in the area can be bad. Needless to say, I cranked it several times and then reconnected the orange wires to the battery and she fired up amazingly well and all scanmaster numbers read within their ranges from what I do remember. Anyways, the lines at the turbo are completely dryrotted, must worse than I recall, as in - they may as well not be connected at all. Do we have a replacement part for these or another suitable option?

The work done on this car was many years ago, id say back in 2002, by a reputable mechanic in Andover MA, long before I moved to SC and because it's been so many years since ive been active with these cars, I have forgotten most everything. As of now the car is mostly stock, appears to have an adjustable waste-gate, typical k&n and a chip which goes WAY back, scanmaster, shiftkit etc. I ordered the 5.7 chip recently and still waiting for it to arrive, burned with typical stock setup for hopefully better drivability and pull less timing. At this time I just want it running well and after that I will look into upgrades, especially when theres decent race gas available here at the pumps (unlike where I was in MA at the time).

A couple shots of said hoses. The others under the turbo are equally bad. Also, on the photo where the line goes into the top of the valve cover/sensor? should there be another line connecting to the other terminal?

picked up those lines and the Y fitting years ago from highway stars. i would just replace the vacuum lines with parts store hose.

how many miles on your car? i'd do the spring cleaning from gnttype.org on it it and if is hasn't been addressed previously a timing chain and valve spring change also.

To my knowledge the Y fitting should still be in working shape, I will check with the parts store for the vacuum lines. The car has 39k miles on it, Ive put around 13.5k on it since about 2002. I definitely need to do the spring cleaning, especially with the amount of downtime the car has seen in the last 10 years. Any idea what size i.d are on the stock lines from the Y fitting and should they be any specific type due to the proximity to the turbo for heat reasons?

Does not matter if you use either 5/32 or 7/32 but yes they need to be replaced, the other hole is for a small filter, nothing to worry about, use your org. y as it is tta specific...

Thanks, I actually just replaced all the lines a few minutes ago and hopefully not have to do the one connecting to the wastegate any time soon, it was a pain in the ass. I do have one more question though.. So yesterday I started the car up after sitting for far too long, the battery was completely dead and today has essentially no charge, which isnt a concern at the moment. However, shortly after I finished up with the vacuum lines my passenger side electrical fan kicked on, albiet very slowly (right side was motionless) and then I hear a slight buzzing/vibration coming from this part linked in the picture. I am curious why the fan would ever kick on when the car hasnt been started in at least 24 hours. Do I have a bad relay perhaps? Ironically, I've always felt something was slowly killing my battery. I ran the part number on a google search and it didnt offer much but, some of the parts code indicates a fuelpump relay?? I am more inclined to think its a fan relay. Thanks for any help!

Seems it is the fan delay relay, as other forum posters have suggested and an OLD recommendation from Caspers in 1993, it's safe to just disconnect it as it seems fairly useless and prone to problems?

I would make sure you have a fully charged known good battery before anything else as it can cause all kinds of problems ( and don't use the alt to charge it) and yes the fan can kick on at any time, look the car over when its dark to make sure no map lights or something stupid is killing it but again start with a good battery, the last time i took a battery to be tested they said it was fine but i thought it had a dead cell and sure enough i replaced it and all was good again...

You can leave the fan delay relay disconnected, every TTA I have had the fan would run forever after driving. Just make sure you don't unplug the wrong relay so make sure the fans still function as normal when the engine is running.

Sounds good, I will disconnect it. It definitely has to be the relay since the electric fan started to randomly spin with no key in the ignition in addition to the car not having been started in 24+ hours so it clearly isnt hot :-p The relay in question, on the picture above was making a loud vibration the whole time the fan was running. I am excited to have it back up and running, new chip should be here in the next few days to replace the one from ~2002.
