Hi Everyone,
I would just like to share my afternoon with you all. This morning I met with the tech that was fixing my car. He installed to adj. fuel reg. He has been telling me along along my thrasher chip was know good. So he installed the other chip of mine, ATR Pitbull, which I know to aggressive with its timing 26 degrees and considered crap these days. He wanted to try the ATR. He also turned down the boost and adjusted the wastegate. First, we ran the LM1 test and the car was running 90 percent better. Then he hooked up the OTC 2000 gadget. We went out and made another run. The number were again better. Car was pulling nice in first. Second gear had a slight knock though. But at least the car was running better. He is all for me getting a new chip. The thrasher chip was making the car run VERY lean. LM1 test showed the Air/Fuel ratio went from 16.1 to 17:1 with the Thrasher chip to and healthier 12:7 or so with the Pitbull. I thought the Thrasher was better than the Pitbull. Guess not for my car. He is changing the plugs, wires, O2 this week.
After we went to lunch he took me to his other shop. Actually, it was more like a big barn were he rents storage space. He had a handful of nice car and boats. The one ride that really caught my eye was this older Buick GS Stage 1. I had never heard of it. Cool emblems on the side with GS Stage 1 on it. I can't remember what year it was but he said it had a 455 in it. Sharp. The GS was not his. Then he took me for a ride in his custom made T-Type Car. The told me the stipped part of the roof which had that padded material on it. This was not the turbo version. He installed a 383 stroker along with a whole bunch of "go fast" parts. Wow, that car was fast. He also has a 69 Chevelle with a 427 that is mint shape. I don't know much about it or if its orginial motor. But it's fast too! He has the bung in the exhaust of all this cars.
Overall it was a exceptional day. Finally got the car running decent till the end of the week. I just should have left everything alone. First I changed the chip (from ATR to Thrasher), then I messed with the exhaust. I should have left everything alone and I would not had ONE problem. We are looking into Eric chip now and that is the only thing I should have done.... However I LOVE the Hooker Catback. Sounds awesome!!!
Thanks again for listening. I am finally heading in the right direction. I will keep you all informed about this weeks appointment. Later.
