I haven't been on the net for TTA stuff much lately. I have quit car sales and am now the service manager at our family's Honda/Arctic Cat motorsports dealership. I have been spending all my time online job training for my new job.

The TTA is slowly going back together. With 100 miles on the stoker it had wiped 3 lobes on the new flat tappet cam and all the metal went through the engine. I had it all completely tore back apart, ordered a roller cam, roller lifters and roller rockers. Every time the engine comes apart it goes back together stronger but I would really like to drive the thing.

My goal is to get it going for the woodward dream cruise. I'll try to keep you updated!

Tough luck! Did you use the GM oil additive or Ritola oil that reportedly has the Phosphorus and other stuff needed to get the flat tappet style cams run in?

I used both Rotella oil + ZDDP additive but it didn't matter, I beleive the hardener wasn't properly done during the cam manufacturing process. I am still waiting to find out what the cam company is willing to do for me before I say too much though.

That stinks Eric. I thought about the flat tappet cam too. Just don't trust the oils today either. Glad you are upgrading to the roller cam. Did you get roller rockers too? Who's cam was it?

I have Harland Sharp making the roller rockers and modifying the valve cover studs. I think if the cam was made right flat tappett should have been fine - many of our cars ran a long time with those installed. I was using all the additives that should have been necessary, I'm just sick of rebuilding this motor and just want to drive the car so this roller better work!
