Hi all,
My name is Will and I'm new here. Originally from Australia,moved to Ohio to get married.Now that's out of the way....I just picked up a 1980 turbo t-top trans am from my local wreckers yard for $200 and I was wanting to know if it's anything special.
It is black,t-tops,black cloth interior(with what looks like a grayish highlight),same with the roof lining,turbo hood,301turbo engine,15X8snowflakes,
auto transmission (with a red bird facing the right on the stick), 4wheel discs,and a posi diff.
As I have not have done alot of work on these cars yet...any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Boy, busy here! Good!
On this site, most of the people have the 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am.
A few, like me, have the second gen Turbo Trans Am also. I have a 1981 Turbo Trans Am. I have also owned a 1981 NASCAR Edition Turbo Trans Am and a 1980 INDY Turbo Trans Am! I sold them both, and I miss them!

They are pretty good with second gen Birds (like yours)!
You car sounds like a regular Turbo Trans Am, not a Special Edition.
Special Editions had gold decals. Bird, nameplates, and pin stripping all around.
4 wheel disc is a great option, and it could be a WS6 car. 8 inch snowflakes is also a good thing to have. Both come with the WS6 handling package, but they could have been ordered separate. Check with PHS to vertify.
Also, since you are in Ohio, check out the Trans Am Nationals Aug 22-24th in Dayton, Ohio! I won't be there this year, but I should next year!
