What type of car battery should I use?

What type of battery should a use? How may amps, COLD CRANKING AMPS & CRANKING AMPS?

If you go to any auto parts store they will be able to look up your battery group size and amp rating required by your TTA. If memory serves me correct I believe that somewhere around 500 cca is the standard for the TTA. More cca won't hurt a thing. If you have a big stereo then you might want to get a battery with a longer reserve capacity. The batteries usually say how long the reserve capacity is. Reserve capacity is how long the battery will last if all the electrical devices on the car are left on without the engine running. As for the type of battery, well there are really only a few main brands. A lot of the off brand batteries are really made by the more well known ones with just a different label on it.
Personally, I care about weight. Or the lack there of. Don't tell anyone, but I actually went down to the local auto parts store with my trusty scale in hand to weigh the batteries. I looked for the lightest weight one with the appropriate cca. I think it was 34 lbs. and about $45.00 If you want a good solid heavy battery and don't care about weight, Optimum is a good choice.
