whats the difference between gn and tta intake air duct?

I am talking about the long flexible duct from the maf to the turbocharger. well actually, it goes to a flimsy plastic pipe that goes to the turbocharger.

I have found a place (nos4gn) that has the hose for the gn but not the tta. Does anyone know the difference on the length of these hoses?

Which is longer and is it a big difference?

It seems to be hard to get this hose. Maybe an aircraft parts place would have it. Or a truck parts place. I have not tried that yet. It would be nice to be able to use the gn part.

thanks again

I remember that flexfab is the company that made this hose for gm. They are still in business, and probably could make up a bunch of these hoses for us for much less than the $30-$60 each that have been the prices for these hoses when they were available.

I wish we could just buy a 12 foot section of the hose that we need, but we cant. The hose has ends. The steel spiral in the hose ends an inch short of the ends of the hose so it can be clamped on without the steel wire under the clamp. So the hoses actually have to be made up in a correct length. Flexfab will make it though. We might have to buy 12 of them at once. Does anyone want this, or is everyone just using aftermarket stuff?

The only option besides goint to the manufacturer would be to approach the guy who runs the nos4gn place. That guy obviously has some juice with gm because he can get them to make discontinued parts just for him. I don't know how many he has to buy or who he has to call to do it or how much money he makes doing this, but he can get stuff made with the proper gm part numbers on it. He has sets of discontinued turbo hoses, with date codes from the second quarter of 2011. They are obviously making this discontinued stuff again. I guess they continued it. But only for him. In the case of the turbo hoses, he sells them very cheaply, at $30 per set. But the air duct is $50 and it is for the grand national. i would pay $50 for a tta one if he had it though.

I could call and ask him, but I doubt he wants to get involved in tta stuff, because there is not enough market to justify it. They made tens of thousands of buick regals, and they have a good following, so you can see why he is willing to supply them.

They are the same and same part number, only difference on the production hoses might been the BUC identification changed to TTA something I'm sure someone with a low milage TTA can tell us.

Kirban Performance have a better quality reproduction for $29 ...
