That's why you turn it up a little at a time, watch the SM, no KR then a little more and so on. . I doubt you are safe on the fac. boost with the pump gas you get now. how many mile's on your car?

Boost does not break these engines. DETONATION does!

You really need an alky kit. Work your tune up to 22#'s boost and leave it alone. That's a 65+ hp gain.

These cars are slow imo with just pump gas. 15#'s is all you can run with 93 octane. You have to get the boost up!

You will need to match your turbo and converter if you upgrade. Unless, you go with Turbonetics 44 with keeps the smaller .63 exhaust housing. It's close to PTE or Limit 44 with Garrett housing...you can keep the stocker tc.

No, you are not going to make anywhere near 540hp with your engine.

The alky kit has great instructions and you can just up the boost bit by bit and monitor knock. You can safely run upwards of 24 psi boost. I run my car at 18 psi and its fast enough for a daily driver. Just monitor your knock on the scanmaster if you want to boost past 20. By far the best performance mod for the money, IMO.

when I order my new chip from TT do i need to make sure to get the alcohol chip? or is the street chip is fine?

I got the 5.7 street chip so i can tune it to run with or without alky, with the alky chip you MUST run alky as it has more timing...

looks like i will be ordering the alky kit..is there any other place where i can order the scan master i was going to place an order for injectors and chip combo 42 or 60 not sure witch with TT but looks like there out of stock for the scan master

Went ahead and placed the order for the scan master, adjustable FP regulator and FP/ Hot wire kit

Is there a certain fuel pressure gauge that is safe for inside the car?
An Autometer electric guage is the only way to go...they are pricey, but I've went through several cheaper ones and either the gauge is way off, of the sending units develop leaks time and time again. Autometer in the GN has now been in it for over 6 years and not a single issue and is spot on with a mechanical gauge.....can only log fuel pressure with the Powerlogger and other logging tools that accept a 5v reference signal.

Most important gauges I should get are FP and boost gauge?
Correct, and try to get a boost gauge with vac built in, 2QUICK6 is right with the FP gauge( $239 ) if you buy through Summit racing make sure you get a -4 female to 1/8 NPT part#916104erl, plus a 1/8 NPT 90 DEG. female part# 991601erl you need this to connect the transducer to the fuel rail, the 90 deg female will get it up and out of the way...

This is how I set mine up,

This is a photo of the pod I used. I also used to use a knock gauge in the top spot, but now have a wideband o2....which I prefer much more.
