--I have a 87 GN which is rarely driven.

--A mint original 67 Corvette Stingray 3 Speed with 421 miles on it.

1996 Cavalier Z24 is my daily, it is fuel efficient and has proven reliable so far. It has 85k on it and I want to get a new daily driver soon, can anyone recommend the best bang for the buck for say 25 grand or less. Fuel efficiency is important so a V8 camaro or TA is out of the question. Thanks in advance.

1998 LS1 6 Speed T/A is my Daily Ride. Can't Complain

Hey I use mine as a daily driver. I tried to use the GN but they keep trying to steal it. I knew I wanted to drive fast everyday, so I bought the TTA, nobody gives it a second glance-

My Daily is a 2000 AUDI TT Silver.
Love it!!
However I have not had my TTA out in 3yrs.
It should be out soon. I just started putting it back together.

Well, being in construction, I drive a 1959 Chervolet Apache pickup!!!! Straight six!!! Can you say "slow"!!!!! But, let me tell ya, that piece ( oops, I should say tons) of steel will flatten any other piece of crap flatter than a beer can (which is probally what they are made of now, with all the empty beer cans I've recycled throughout the years!!!).When not working, I drive a 1991 red Firebird with the Sport Appearance Package (bone stock). I do show my 20th, though. I've got over 23 trophies for her so far!!!!!
It's great to meet everyone!!!!

I also have a 92 vette convertible, which I have modified quite a bit so we are always messing with each other about which is fastest! (he sure causes me to spends lots of cash to stay ahead of the TTA). I am racing the Vette in the Silver State Classic open road race next week, we hope to take the TTA maybe next year. Has anyone done long distance high speed runs in a TTA? Like 150mph for 90 miles? Wondered about heat build up on the turbo, etc.

Hi LT1GMC,
I had mine with the speedo needle 1 and 1/2 inches below the 140 mph mark for about an hour!!! Only it was on a nice clear cool night in California!! Nothing like the nice hot(!!!!!) desert air!! Mine kept right at about normal temp!! You should do O.K.!! Many 2oth Turbo Trans Am's have run the Silver State!! Good luck!!

Let us know,

George

My daily driver is my 87GN. Its got 141,000 miles, and all original turbo/intercooler. I did replace the injectors with stock ones (I couldnt pass up on the fact that they were free!) the other weekend. I do see a rebuild or replacement of the turbo soon though, as its giving me some problems now with detonation and oil, etc... Fun!

I ordered it the end of March and took delivery the end of June. It's 'fully-loaded' and drives like a dream. About a month ago I had my first street race in it against a 95-96 Impala SS - I know their 'big-n-heavy' but hey - they have a big V8 under that hood - anyway to make a short story even shorter - we went from 'stoplight-to-stoplight' I bet him by a good 1 1/2 car lengths - he wanted to try it again - so I obliged - same result!

Next week I'll be driving it down to Buicks @ Bristol in the caravan leaving from NJ - where it will make it's drag racing debut. Granted it's not a TTA or a T/R but it's still a Buick - I hear/read it should run low 15's mabe high 14's stock - I'll let ya-all know
after we get back home.

Take Care,

My TTA is the only vehicle I have! Hasen't let me down yet! After my dad crashed my TTA,
I sold my 20000 mile Eagle Talon to pay for
the rebuild! I rolled my Jeep Grand Cherokee
a week later, sold my motorbike two weeks after that

The TTA is just about running normal! A quick
scan tool session should straighten things
out!

I drive my 125k TTA all the time, It gets terible mileage, Shakes rattles and rolls. I love it. I also have a 92 Firebird V6, 86 Corvette (better on gas than the TTA) and just bought a 2000 Suzuki SV650. Sold my 55 Chevy and 70 Goat. I will drive the TTA till the engine siezes and then rebuild it.
