where is everybody at?????????????

I'm right here in the UK :-)

It's always slow on the forum unfortunatly. TB.com is a bit more active ... but seems pretty slow everywhere at the moment. So how's your TTA doing?

doing great Jan,,,,,,,

I am changing jobs right now, and probably better wait a month to buy those emblems from you when the new paychecks come in. If you sell them thats ok, Dave Gershon had a pair to, but if you still have them we will try and work something out. Specially with the blue hoses :D

???? I'm here in Sweden, just located North/north east of Jan on the rainy island of UK.

All the rain and snow here in Sweden comes from Jan.

Anyway..... back to topic, there are soooo many forums and e-mallist so i guess that we are all over the world right now?

What can i count to? 5 Special TTA/GN Forums and 1 e-maillist?

Anyway, good to hear from one over there that are active at this forum anyway! 8)

Well,
I just got back from the Los Angeles Auto Show!
Picked up some good Press Kits and such! Got to drink imported wine from Italy, at Ferarri! Ate imported cheese there too! :D
Life is good over there!
Had sushi at Jaguar (go figure!), and got a free Jaguar folding chair too!
Lisa met four NASCAR drivers at the Chevy Press Conferance!
They drove out the new Impala and Monte Carlo. Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr., Jeff Burton, and another driver. I asked (while videoing) if they minded if Lisa could stand between them for some pictures, and Jeff Gordon said "sure"! I handed her a 2005 Chevy brochure, and she got their autographs! Too cool!
I grabed one too, but all I could find was Dale Jr! So, he signed the Corvette section of my brochure (Lisa got the autographs on the Monte Carlo section of hers!)!
Had a great time, but Jan must have sent over his weather! We got anywhere from 2 to 5 inches of rain! We found out that 5-7 more was coming, so we left early, and drove back home! About 10 minutes after we left Devore, they closed down the highway! Way too much rain! We couldn't see 10 feet in front of us when we went through! We got lucky!
Jan still has "his" weather sitting over us now!
I noticed alot of internet intrest is down as well.
I like this site, and check it out often.

Have a good one,

George

Hi, Im here almost every night, but I never post (just lookin and learnin) . I have a tta that was once used as a DARE vehicle. Thanks to the tips from everyone on the tta sites it runs pretty good now. I wanted to change some things to make it run really good, but after seeing Jans restoration pictures i can't decide which to do now.
Dan

Hi Dan, if you need some advice or have questions just drop me a line ([email protected]) and I'll be glad to help you out based on my experience doing my TTA .... big project but well worth it .... if you need to do the engine bay I would do that first before anything else ... I need to do mine but not decided yet on how far to take it ...

So did you get the Dare TTA that was on e-bay? Do you still have the decals and stuff on it or I guess you would no be allowed to drive it that way? Any pictures you can share?

Hey George, I'm more than happy to share the weather with you guys you know that :-) I just sent a travel request for Phoenix AZ and if the big boss don't have any other ideas I should be out there on March 20th and can probabrly take a couple of days off end of that week / weekend to visit if you and Lisa are around ! Was hoping to make SEMA but had to be in Germany and France unfortunalty.

Hi Jan!
You are more than welcome to come out and visit us! :D
Today should be the last day for the rain you seem to be sending us!
Then, it should be sunny! Can't wait to go out and work on all the projects in the back yard and the garage!
Let us know more as the time comes closer!

George

Hi Jan, thanks for the offer of help, yes it is the dare car from ebay. I took all the stickers off except the blue and red stripe and the blue splash sticker on the side. My 9yr. old son likes the stripes so I had a piece made for the door so the stripe is complete. I like it because it hides the dings. It wouldn't look to bad if it didn't have the dare word in the stripe on the quarter panel.
Why didn't you pull your motor out when your car was painted? I did the whole works to a 69 z28 camaro and swore I would never do that again, but I would hate not to do it all at once and regret it.
One problem I have is when I shift from park to reverse or drive I here a loud clunk ( sounds like a bad universal joint, but its not ) or if I boost it up and it shifts from 1st to 2nd . During normal driving it won't clunk. I have heard stories of the rear or tranny causing it, have you ever experienced that or know of a common problem with the tta causing it ?
Thanks Dan

Im Here as well! Been so busy i forgot about my site!!!!

The rain you were talking about george, turned to SNOW over here!! And Lots of it!!!
Then a 55 degree day and all 6-8 inches of snow melted and that night guess what??? More Snow lol!
The weather is crazy here... But my TTA is tucked away nicely!

dare,

At the moment when I did my car I thought it would be too much of a project to remove the motor as well and it would not be driveable for the body shop .... o well I'll get it done at some point.

The loud clunk sounds like either the transmission torque arm bushing going bad or the universal joints. I've replaced everything on mine and it's very quit.

Jan,
I forgot what exhaust you are running. Flowmaster?
Thanks God our rain is over. For now!
You should see all the damage it caused all the way across the country!
The rain has been gone for a few days now, and just on the news here in Kingman, AZ., they are showing Corona, California, flooding right by the 91 Fwy!
Man, I can't believe all the damage!
We left Los Angeles early to get back home, and while driving threw Devore, got hit hard with the rain! I couldn't see 10 feet in front of me! When we got into Barstow, it was sunny! Then, after eating there (Yep, my favorite place, Taco Bell) for about a half hour break, we came out to the cars to find the sky all pitch black! We took right off again! Needless to say, they closed the Devore pass within 15 minutes of our going through, for a couple of hours! The water was so buildup on the Fwy, that it caused a few fenderbenders!
The rain hit us in Kingman a few hours after we got home!

Chris,
We got snow while I was out in Los Angeles! I missed it! Stayed for about a half day!
Last season, no snow! This season, 3 days with it on the ground! I heard someone say it's been about 8 years since we had some snow like this!
My babay has been tucked away too, but I am thinking about taking her out for the local cruise this Sat. night!
You ever come out this way? Stop by for a visit!

Later,

George

I got the hooker cat back, with stock TTA tips on it !

Rain, snow .... hmm you guys should try Sweden and the UK ..... plenty of rain in the UK and plenty of snow in Sweden ;)

Have a good one!

Another side of the globe..

hey guys the site has been slow eh.. but I guess not alot happens over christmas too..
... I've escaped some pretty intense heat & bush fires in our state in Australia that drove people into the sea in places... while up in Asia they ran inland from it,, god help them.. there ARE alot of good and decent people their.

We landed in the last few days of December in LA..just got swamped.. and intended to go to Florida & Detroit for the Motor show & see a few people but the weather their this week is deadly too.. so.. go figure..did not bother...
.. Currently I'm finishing off a trip to Miami and Georgia.. back over to LA for Pomona I guess then out again.. (Sick of airline food too.. )

... no place safe it seems to drive a TTA at the moment....

Take care eh.

Hi Ozpont!
Did you do the Los Angeles Auto Show?
I was just there for Press Day!
Hung around for a few days in the rain, then when we heard another one stronger was coming right after the one we were going through, we jamed for home!
Safe in Kingman for now! But, California and Utah and back east are hit hard by this same storm!
We didn't do the Long Beach Auto sSwap Meet, although we planned on it!
Pomona lately hasn't been too good for me lately, so I'll wait till summer.
When is your next trip out?
There's this nice little eatery I like, and others I took here as well enjoy it too!
You should try the SEMA show in Nov. every year in Las Vegas too!

Have a good safe trip home,

George

Hi Jan!
Any rivers overflowing?
Houses washing away in the rivers?
Houses being buried under muddy hillslides?
Roads washed away, or closed due to floodsing or mud?
I know you guys get lots of rain, but all at once??
Well, at least it will be in the mid 70s here now, with sun!

Have a good one,

George

LA shows etc

Hey Mr TurboTA... You asked if I did the LA show... well NO.. I had intended to flew into Detroit for the Nth American MS.. but being in LA till the night before the LA show openned and getting cold, wet and frustrated in the Traffic.. I hit the air for Florida etc... Great weather their but not so up east.. Florida was OK though till Friday Night.. started out cold again.. but who cares.. got back to LA today and its fine and sunny & smoggy.. the way LA should be eh..

Regards SEMA.. I know what your saying. .. I've been every year for the last 6...even when I finished 5 months of Chemo & Rad 2 years back.. just in time to fly out and forget about bloody hospitals... SEMA tends to leave one in aur of the size of the industry.... get just one good deal going and it worth every cent.. like the talks too.

I did come through Kingman early last year as you may recall.... acturally in a TTA also.. ex NYC.. but one nighter only..(story is coming out in POCI smoke signals shortly too)

.. if your interested in catching up.. it sounds like you get around a bit... lifes too short to sit at home... no matter where it is.. lets catch up some time.
DC

Hi Ozpont!
Ya, I tend to get from Los Anglese to Las Vegas quite a bit!
If you are in Los Angeles right now, you can still hit the Auto Show out there!
As for meeting up sometime, sounds good!
For Los Angeles, give me about a month's notice.
Las Vegas, about a week! Same with Kingman here!
That way I can pick up, like hiding all the good stuff, like when Jan comes out to visit!
I need to renew my membership for P.O.C.I., I let it lapse during my move out here!
I hit the Los Angeles Auto Show and SEMA every year!
Maybe we can get a few others here together as well! Jan tends to visit the Los Angeles area quite a bit too! Now I'm just waiting for him to visit me here!

Just let me know,

George
