where to buy ARP studs

And here's the "bible" for our cars lol

This is the list I've compiled with all the bolts etc I used for my build ... the part numbers are Hillco's numbers and some (kits sometimes are the ARP order number) ... either way this should be very useful if you plan to replace some or all of your bolts ... or just need to order the correct size/length for something you lost over the years :D

Note that the studs used for some of the header fasteners are slightly larger diameter than the OEM studs so had to slightly open up the holes on some stuff like the support bracket for the A/C compressor etc to fit as there is not aftermarket studs identical to what GM used.

Also what's missing form the list is all the hardware for the front cover and water pump as I got the complete kit from RJC Racing (RJCRacing) and forgot to measure them all so I need to do that at some point ... oh and one of the bolts shipped from RJC was incorrect for the timing cover I used so had to get another bolt I remember.

Anyway hopefully this is of help to you all and if you find any errors or use other ARP bolts somewhere else let me know and I'll update the spreadsheet accordingly.

Wow, awesome info. Had I had that list before now I'd have saved about 10 hours. I'm compiling (or was...) a list similar to yours although only half done!

I think we all spend (waste I should say) time on pretty much the same research and trial & error many times :-(

I'm sure I posted it somewhere a couple of years back ... could have been on TB.com when someone where looking at going the ARP route.

Let me know if you found some that is missing from my list. Most recently I was looking at some M6x60 and M6x80 for the headlight motors but undecided to get them or not. (so not on that list yet).

Did the 3/8-16 header studs have a broached end? Meaning did you tighten by hand or by a hex head?

Tightened by hand, only studs that had a hex key where the main cap studs and also some I used for the upper plenum (holding the coil bracket to the upper plenum) ... all others had a rounded smooth top/end.

You can see the driver side header studs/bolts in this picture

Thanks again Jan. I ordered 3.750". I have a set of headers with a new set of flanges that make the 2.5" too short.

I always ordered some others!

I'll post up pics whenever I get it together.
