Has anyone tried the goodyear hose, or any of the following replacements?
The part number is here, with corresponding numbers for other brands...

Does the good year replacement hose actually fit?
Does it look somewhat correct?
I attached photos of the original design and the replacement design. The original seems to be a very tight s shape, sort of overlapping on itself, while these replacements are sort of a 1/2 swastika shape, rather than an "S" per se.
If you look at the original and then look at the replacement, the replacements don't look like they would work unless you bent them so much that they would kink. God knows I don't want to spend $60 on a $5.00 item. I would think with all the tens of thousands of buick regals that use this hose, there would be a proper replacement. I am just trying to establish what that is. If someone has used these replacements, I would like to know about it.
Prices for parts on these cars are insane. If you just saw the parts prices you would think the car was valuable. On what planet are these prices justified? Rolls Royce sells coolant hoses for these prices. But those prices are geared towards billionaires. Not poor owners of used, v-6/automatic firebirds!
Thanks
And, you know what, if gm would actually supply parts for this car, I would gladly pay. Well, if they were made somewhere in north america I would pay. But they don't. they abandoned this car when it was 3 years old. I remember in 1992 I could not get radiator hoses for this car.
Rolls Royce has their incredibly high prices, but if you call them and you need a part for a 1934 rolls royce, they will sell it to you. No such thing as discontinued. If it is out of stock, they get out the blue prints and put their people to work. In England. Not China. (gm makes most of their "genuine gm parts" in china. Probably in the same factories that make the stuff for autozone. I bought a pair of genuine gm parking light housings for the tta from a gm dealer, for $50.00 each. "MADE IN CHINA" is molded right into the parts, and black spraypaint oversprayed right on to the front of the amber lenses. There are dead bugs in the paint too. And they are not supposed to be painted anyway. Genuine indeed.)
