Right now I have a set of Nitto DR's that will be comming off for the 2003 race season. I'm torn making a decision on what race tire will replace them. This is what I'm thinking. For a radial and street/strip racing, I think the BFG DR's hook better than the Nitto DR's. Staying with the radial tires will keep my MPH up on the big end. Now, if I should decide to go with a "real race" tire, my options are the Hoosier QT Pro's, the MT Steet ET's, and the M&H Racemasters. The Hoosiers are a tad too small on the contact patch but really hook well, so I don't know if the smaller size is going to be a problem or not? I really don't care for the MT's, and the M&H's come in a 305/45/16 and are quite sticky compared to the rest. I know people that have had good luck with the M&H's, but they totally suck in the rain as do the rest of them short of the BFG's. What are you all running, and what kind of short times do these tires produce for ya? I really need a tire that will work well with my trans brake, so the bias plies will prolly be the better choice.
PS>>>Dio the larger MT's rub with the stock wheel? I noticed they have a smaller size as well. Too bad the Hoosiers are not a tad larger
