Who puts their car in Car Shows?

Hi all,
Well we all know that just about all of us race our cars, but who shows them in car shows? I do! From local Pontiac Oakland Club,International shows; 1993 Pontiac Oakland Club, International National Show; to local and out of area Trans Am car shows. As of this date, I've got 25 throphies! I'm running out of room to put them all! How many throphies do you have?
If we don't show, how's anyone to know or find out about our cars?

This summer I will be at Trans-a-rama with my TTA for it's first show along with my 1989 GTA. I hope to see you their. We should have about 5-6 TTA's.

My TTA has been out to alot of non-competitive show-n-shines so far.

I am showing at the Lake Afton car show and shine. I dont even know if there will be prizes or judging, but its one of the biggest in the area, they are expecting over 500 cars. I will be there with the Kansas F Body club www.ksfba.com

I am pretty sure i will be the ONLY TTA.

I used to show my car on a regular basis but have taken up racing instead. The hours put in per event are about the same but for me I get more satisfaction out of racing, especially road racing. A 12 or 13 second blast once an hour just isn't enough. But a 20 minute session out on a road course every 1 1/2 or 2 hours is lots of fun.

I did show my TTA for the first time at the TA Nats last year. I believe they gave away about 7 places in my class but I was no where in there. I was in light modified which included 3rd and 4th gen cars. I believe only 1 3rd gen car placed.
 
I am curious about putting my TTA in car shows when I get it back on the road! I was wondering which route is the best one to take for a TTA that is streetable, 100% show car, and raceable too on occasion. I realize that it's hard to even out these characterisics, but my main concern is will stock appearing appeal to judges more, or will chrome city?
 
My club just finished up with Trans-a-rama.

We had 71 cars register and 5 of them were TTA's. The Friday night Cruise-in to Old town Auburn had 45 cars. My TTA took the peoples choice for favorite 3rd Gen Bird.

In the judged event that took place on Saturday at Reliable Pontiac we had 3 10th Anniversary's, 4 20ths and 3 30th's. My GTA took 1st and my TTA was 3rd in the Stock 3rd Gen cars.

We had lots of great Vintage Iron (70, 71, 72 & 73 T/A's) show up.

I read one of your posts that you had made it down to the Lake Forest Fudrucker Car show back in 2001. I remember seeing a TTA at the All Pontiac Show last May...was that yours?

If you are down in the Huntington Beach area...there is a show in the early Saturday mornings 5 a.m to 10 a.m on the corner of Adams/Magnolia...Ace Hardware Parking lot. The show is called Derrillick Donute Shop Car Show and is really great.

There is a really cool cruize going on at Irvine Lake on Sunday Sept 15. It's free and is open to cruisers at 11 a.m. Just in case you are down in So Cal.

I am kinda close to Huntington Beach! I'm from the Torrance/Lomita area! Are the show every weekend? I may have to cruise by.

I would love to. I make the HB Derrilick donut shop show ever other weekend (Sat Magnolia/Adams).

THe "Cruise to the Lake" Hot Rod Show is on Sept 15. Gates open to cruizers at 11 a.m. Car competetors @ 10 a.m. event # 714-649-9113. Direction say address is 4621 Santiago Canyon Road.

Weekends are the best to stop by and visit! You can call me or I can call you, either way. I'll email you my phone numbers. You might be here awhile, so plan half a day or so.
Thanks for the info on the show! I'll see if I can make it.
As for the Donut Shop cruise, maybe when you go in a few weeks. I forgot it was today! Tomorrow, I'll be going to the Long Beach Auto Swap Meet to buy car magazines (gotta buy them all before Jan comes out again!! Ha!!) and such, mainly looking for polyurthane bushing for some of my cars, and for some 1/18th diecast (again, I gotta buy them all before Jan comes back out!! You reading this Jan?? Ha!)!

Car shows

George,
I just purchased TTA #989 and wanted to know where to get some OEM spark plug wires. I think my original ones are shot. I was refered to you when I posted this question. Also does anyone know when and where there are shows around the Philly area. Thanks
