Winter Modification/maintenace

Turbo Luvr
Hi All, i'm sure i'm like others at this point in the year and need to think about some mods and maintenance while the car sleep's in the garage.

I have a noisy drivers side cooling fan motor; Should i pull the unit out and replace the motor with a OE unit or should i look at a replacment/upgraded assembly from Spal, Maradyne or FAL?.... Do the TTA's have the same radiator and cooling fan assembly as all other 3rd gens?

I also need to figure out why my transmision lock up isnt working....

I'm also contemplating buying one of Merkels SG1 short block assemblies....The current motor seems strong, so i dont know if i will peel into the motor this year or next...Baring that for sure I'm going to buy a new turbo to look after the air and a 9 inch converter to spool it..Sure would like a new intercooler but with the limited options that probably isnt going to happen, but if a mease unit came up i would jump on in...,Or I'm going to build one.....

I had the car out to the track once this past summer and i think i ran through two-three tanks of gas through her....Only mod's i did were a alky kit and a boost controller... and the lag on the bottom end is pretty bad...Ran a 13.4 at 100 MPH...I thought it would have gone 103-104....I should have focused on looking at the stall in the car now, but it was streetable. and i knew i was going to buy a new unit that should stall about 3-3200 and i'll go from there.

I have some 50 lb injectors and a TT chip that i never put in this past summer; might upgrade and go with some 60's instead for next year.

I also need to figure out a drive shaft loop; any thoughts? I really dont want to drill the car so i will need to fab somthing up.

Thoughts?

I sent my SG1 to jack merkel ... He bored it .10 over JE pistons all steel caps and an RJC girdle. He did his oiling upgrades too. Balaced blue printed it an ported my heads an intake an put a 212/212 roller in it. The engie has been together for awhile now. I have a 70GTQ with a CAS front mount intercooler on the car. Ive been trying to get enough break in miles on it before i get it dyno tuned.

Ive got over 6,500 in the longblock. The crossover pipe has to be cut an welded to make it longer on both sides to clear the oil pan.
