Well, a friend of mine has been wanting my PTE 6262. He made me a very good deal. So, what the heck, I picked up a Turbonetics 66 Ball Bearing turbo from Jack Cotton. :headbang: I have always wanted one.

Thanks to the boards, I made this 4" MAF pipe for just under $70 shipped.lol Everything fits very well. Once the weather breaks, I will install and the new stainless steel up pipe from Kirbans ($35)lol that I polished to a mirror finish.haha Something cool too... I actually pocketed $25 dollars from the sale of my used up pipe and maf pipe. So, that worked out well.

where did you get those elbows and thin blk connecting tubes??

IS your up pipe three inches?? Mine is and I am wondering if a 3" maf will fit below it. Your turbo is gonna be awsome.

What maf sensor set up are you going to use, a stock or a bigger one?

3" Up Pipe will NOT fit over this 4" Maf pipe. That is why I sold my RJC up pipe. But, you DO NOT need to relocate your IAC.:)

I will send you a pm with the parts needed to complete. I am using the reducer from Hose Techniques, 18 shipped. (thanks Shawn). Also, yes, I am running a stock maf off the reducer. Air Filter lays well too.

You do know you have to run more then 15 psi to use this turbo?

You do know you have to have a scantool to tune?

You do know that the reds chip is 90's technology?

I run 23# with the 6262.

I have a freakin scantool. I ordered the PowerLogger.

Red is one of the ORIGINALS to Turbo Buicks. He is a super nice guy and talks to me for hours even when I don't spend a dime. I needed a alky chip anyways, I felt like making a Donation the one of the GREATS! :thumbup:
 
Soooo.... does this mean it's going down the track next year!!

My Buddy Kevin likes Red too, talks to him for hours as well,he is one of the originals of the turbo Buicks....back when gas was better and cranks were more plentiful.
 
Red and Jane are great! Very friendly! A pleasure to talk with for sure.

Red's chip idles well at 850rpm. I was expecting rough idle, stumble down low, pig rich and slow spool up... BS that I read on the internet. Idles just as good in open loop as the rest of the chips I have used. When it goes into closed loop at idle, as you know, well, it's not as smooth of course.
Tell you what, this chip is aggressive!

Lots of people buy chips and if there is a issue, they just replace with a different chipmaker. Instead of giving your scan numbers back to the first guy. I know Erics and Bob's chips are basically dead on the first time. I used them. Nothing but GREAT things to say about those gentlemen and their products. However, Mike @ Wildcats recommended this chip to me. End of story.:boxing:

Those are pretty pipes. You getting a Angle Boss to clear the MAF pipe for the IAC? I like Red and Jane too. I talked Red alot back in the early 90's at the track. He's always been fast, never tried his chip, but Eric probably has snooped his program once or twice. The stock Maf may be the weak link in this, I'd guess you may try the LS style IMO. Keep the thread going with some install picks. ttarider
 
I do not need to use one on this 4" Maf pipe. :dance:You need to have a curved section leaving the turbo inlet and it WILL clear!!! But if the maf pipe was straight coming out of the turbo it won't clear.

Almost done! I had the exhaust housing on the turbo ceramic coated. Coating is great. Also, I polished the up pipe and few other things. My apologizes for the pix.

fyi, I did not have to relocate the IAT.

Joe has more chips then brains.

I'd like to see his list of chips he has tried....AND a list of what he has for his car.
 
Chips, yeah, I have used them all. I like the Bob's and Eric's chip the best. Same drivability.. ;)of course...

Thrasher chip was good.

Pitbull would ping at 14 psi.

Red's, I have not drove enough.

Red has the confirmed "Fastest chip car".

Yes, I do a lot of experimenting. But I take care of my chit. This TTA has not seen 1 degree of knock since my rebuild in '08. Reason for the rebuild was to update the cam, valve train and 20 year old leaky gaskets... :boxing:
