That's why i bought a big screen, sitting in the recliner at 75deg. i will wonder the same thing my Mother always said to me; " What in the HELL where you thinking " about the crowd and players,...:poke: It's fun to watch on tv though...

I worked in Orlando today and it is cold and windy here too. In the afternoon it was in the 40s!

What 105,000 at the "Winter Classic" Hockey game the other day?? and brutally cold :cold:
The Packers fans must be crazy, sounds like some nasty temperatures to be outside to me...
I'll be watchin' our Birds [hopefully] beat up on the Saints while toasting in front of the Heat-n-Glo fireplace tomorrow night
(Definitely cold here, but still nuthin' like the far northern states)

Cold!!???

It's going to be -15 for the HIGH temp here on Monday with 25 to 40 mph winds, dipping the wind chill factor in to the -60 range! Come get it!! :D

It's global warming!!! It was one of the coldest Decembers we have had here in TX with ice pelting us right off the bat the first week of Dec...
Love this TX weather, 65 degrees Saturday...then only 30's Mon...then back to 68 on New Years Day...then only 30's on Thursday....Supposed to be mid-60's again Sat...then not over freezing Sun and Mon....wtf???
Everyone go buy a gas guzzling ozone eatin' muscle car and quit driving those electric things to speed up that global warming now!

8 degrees here tonight. I would kill for 40 degrees. Not so bad when parts of Minnesota haven't gone above 0 the past few days.

I am still in Orlando till tomorrow and it is going to be 72 tomorrow and 80 Sunday, just crazy! But the big chill comes next week !! Burrr

It was -5*c today and last night we had freezing rain with 2" of snow on top , going to be -30 *c tomorrow. That's Alberta. We also have about 2 to 3 feet of snow in total.... Next week could be melting , never know these days.

It is cold everywhere. Here in Chicago we are supposed to have a high of -8 in two days and we already have 14 inches of snow on the ground. lol

49 F here but lots of rain and our "island" is hit by sever storms ... 500 storm warnings issued yesterday; costal areas have some major flooding, roads damaged etc.

It's single digits here in NY. I work outside for a living...12 hour days.
Coldest December I remember. Look so forward too coming home and lighting the fire... Mmmm...The smell of hickory wood.

I have an American Eskimo Dog that hates it too.lol She goes outside for about 2 min. lately and is back inside. She is so spoiled she hates the outside anyways. She lays on our bed all day and watches TV and barks and it. She thinks it's her personal window.

I mentioned in October (when we had snow) that it was going to be a bad winter. So far it has lived up to that. It has been really cold here too. But Monday night and Tuesday is supposed to be the worst. High's may not get out of the negative readings. Has not been that cold in my area since 1994 according to the news reports.:cold:

What gets me thru it, is trying to say busy and not focus on it too much. Sometimes just hang out in the garage and do busy work, like wipe one of the cars down with quick detailer, even though they dont need it. Seems to feed the addiction till driving time comes back.:burnrubber:

The packers game wont be to bad they are giving away hand warmers, coffee, and hot chocolate to everyone. haha

:dance:it takes a little bit of getting used to it ,but then again my car run great in this weather.these turbo cars love this s..t.

It's one of the reasons we won the war! :cold:
Seriously...I'm old enough to remember the winter of 77, as 13 yr old boy walking home from school I could barely see over the piled up snow separating the road from the sidewalks. I don't recall a worse winter here, except for one of the winters around 1998ish when we had snow everyday for 31 straight days, and not flurries, ...like an inch a day or 6 inches a day.
You other yankees know what I mean, you run out of places to pile up snow, our driveways become narrower, the streets become narrower and the most plush of luxury cars made ride like 3/4 ton trucks when the temps dip below 0*. And forget about using your power windows, and of course part of your morning includes starting your car 30 mins before you attempt to drive away, even with that there is a perpetual frozen pond on your driverside floormat.

And I haven't even talked about "fenderbergs" or how our cars change color because of a layer of Calcium Chloride all over the car in vary waves of thickness, turning white cars into a shade of beige to grey....and god help you if your drive through a car wash and park outside....good luck opening your doors! You also know that stopping by the convience store usually means getting yet another gallon of the 10 gallons of windshield washer fluid you'll use this winter,,,oh! and let's talk about the uselessness of wiperblades below 25*....we get very adept at peering through a 10"x2" field of view in the windshield all the while mainting a 60 MPH speed through occasional "whiteouts"(another distinctly northern expression)
This goes on from December thru march around here and I cant imagine what you Canadians tolerate .

Other things you hear and do up north in the winter.

Frost laws
We all know when it's legal to run studs
Single stage vs two stage
we know what a wing plow is and what it does
Don't walk with your hands in pockets
Frozen nose hair
Boots becomes fashionable at ANY societal occasion....formal or not

Winter in a snow belt area is like living in a slow motion natural disaster that no one else seems to much care about, which is fine....we have just become accustomed to it and we just go through everyday because we know that the rest of the moderate climates are not going to stop and let us catch up.

I will say though....I've been in southern Florida in late July and I noticed that the natives(and us) react the same to their weather then as we do up here in the winter....they scamper from the air condition houses to their air conditioned cars to their air conditioned stores....just as we do about our heated sanctuaries ...avoiding the extreme temps at either end.

but without the perpetual wet feet we live with in the winter.

If you mention snow around here people freak the hell out, if they are calling for a 10% chance of flurries at 2am there will be no milk or bread left in store's and talk on the news about if school's will be closed, but we are overdue since the last good snow (12" or better ) was around 93'.

About 8yr ago i flew to Maine to help a friend move south and we decided to cruise to Bath where they make the big ship's and every plant we passed there was several hundred Harley's sitting out front and it was 10degs.! ! I don't know if that is hardcore or plain stupid...

It's in the 70s here and blue sky's today.
Just took the syclone for a ride around the block and the TTA is next after lunch, before this arctic air hits tomorrow night. Going to be chilly for 2 nights!
First time this season below freezing.
