The last time I started the car was on christmas. I am new to this car and I don't know how to trouble shoot

Anyways, the car cranks and fires to idle then shuts back down....every time. Any ides on what to do?

has gas and plenty of juice.

Well I had just bought a new stock chip from eric at turbo tweak I hadn't installed it yet. I had a thrasher chip in there. I put the new chip in and it fired right up.

another thumbs up for eric:thumbup:

What do you think of that turbo tweak chip? My car came with an after market chip. I'm not sure what the chip is, or if its doing any good.

I'll answer this too. There is no better chip than the turbotweak chip. I have used ATR pitbulls, Thrashers, Kenne Bell, Red Armstrongs, Extenders, and besides the Extender chip none of them even compare. I have used Eric since he developed the chip years ago and always have had great service.

You will not be dissatisfied. TurboTweak Home

I should order one this week. Because like I said I have no idea what after market chip is been in there since I bought the car 3 years ago.

TT chip is the best. I had weird idling problems since the car was new. I tried pit bull (ATR),Dynomax, Caspers (pretty good 7 out of out 10), but all including the factory chip had weird idling characteristics and would even die in traffic sometimes, it would restart but still this was very frustrating. The TT chip cleared up all of that, drives so smooth it's really unbelievable. I should also say that I replaced the IAC during some of the other changes being made. This also could have been apart of the problem idle weirdness, but I didn't do a test before and after change. Very awesome chip anyway. His chip is a 10:toot:

I have not been able to drive the car much< i just took it around town and it drives much smoother and idles awesome. I figured for 85$ and I have the best possible chip for a stock car. Id just do it. It will make you sure that at least that part of the car is done

I was going to ask if you had a Thrasher chip in the car because the problem sounds like what happens when the chip goes into anti-theft mode. Basically the car will run on the fuel in the rails and then die. If the chip had the anti-theft function on it you have to follow the proper procedure to start it. But in addition if the car has been sitting (which you said it had) the voltage will drop when starting. A little drawback to the anti-theft feature is that during starting if the voltage drops below 10 volts (which is still enough to start) the chip goes into anti-theft. I used to remedy this problem with a trickle charger for those winter months.

I did have the thrasher chip and that must have been the problem. The battery was low and it sounded just like when the anti-theft kicks in. I was doing the steps properly but it must have been the low voltage causing issues. thanks for your help and resposes

Hence my question too.

What are your plans for the car? 60 lb. injectors are a great upgrade but if you never plan on modifying then I would leave it alone.

I think I will leave the car stock for a long. With moding the 25th, and building a house funds are short. So just the chip then?
