Finally 9 Sec Club

Took the TTA to the track last Friday made some great runs.

First pass was 10:34 with 17lbs boost
Second was 10.06 with 20 lbs boost
Final pass was 9:93 @ 140mph with 22lbs boost

No knock and car ran super rich. This was on race gas only, no methanol.
They stopped me from running again for lack of safety equip. There's more in the motor for sure as we had it up to 27 lbs boost on the dyno. Won't be able to find out what else it has until I get a bar.

Not sure if I'll put a bar in, I don't want to take away from the interior of the car. However it is totally modified so it wouldn't hurt. I am undecided at this point as what to do with it but I am very pleased with the performance.

Those times just keep getting better and better! Congrats! Did you get the Fast system?

That's super awesome! I assume that is with that new motor you were posting about sometime ago for Christmas right?

Thanks guys!

I am super pumped, just can't push it at the track again or I'll be banned. I'd like to go to another track and see what it will do at 27 psi. Also our track here is extremely elevated above sea level, and I'd like to see what the car does at a lower altitude.

Yes that is with the new motor that took forever to get all put in and plumbed and motor mounts.
Cam is 230/224
I use the FAST 2.0. It is very excellent.

Yes still using a PTC 9.5 inch converter however the car revs up to 5500 so fast and just stays there and I go through the traps at around 6000 the guys at the speed shop tell me the converter is too loose. There is harly any drop in rpm when the trans shifts from 1-2 and 2-3. It's like driving a sled lol.

Yeah Rob if I decided to continue racing at that speed I will cage it. Just not sure yet. I like to street drive it as is, the FAST has 3 tunes on it, 1 is pump gas 94 for street cruising, 2 is a race gas tune that I ran at the track, 3 is all in all kill mode that I have not yet tried.

congrats that is some nice numbers like Robert said if you are planning on doing those trap times I would consider putting a cage on ,better doing it safe and it would make it more fun when you have a piece of mind.

Time for a new shifter. You need to manually shift the car in its power range. I had the same problem when swapping in the 9.5NL from Dusty. The revs never change through the run until the end.
Nice pass, but work on the suspension a little and you can run a better number on same boost.
Congrats tho! Thats haulin the mail pretty good with a LOT left in it!

That's quite an accomplishment, and you're in very small club of 9 sec TTAs. I can't even imagine what it must be like to rip off a 9 sec slip.

I would like to know what any or all of you will do should you want to put in a cage, bar, hoop or whatever keeps the car safe and track people happy.

Personally, I'd do it if I could save the function of the backseat.

What shifter are you using

The dyno had 720 rear wheel hp at 27 lbs boost. Speed shop guys said I could get more if my converter was not so loose. I will likely get a tighter converter next winter.

Right now I am just trying to decide about a cage. It's so invasive to the interior however if I plan to continue racing I want to be safe. My concern is how much other alteration I need to do to pass tech for 9's. I read the NHRA rules but will have to read it again to take it all in. I really don't want to lose the seats. I don't like those racing seats some guys have.

Wow  - at the wheels! That is some Rocket
It sounds like you are thoroughly investigating your decision about the cage... good luck and I hope you are pleased [in the long term] with whatever you decide.
