Other than this forum where do you guys go

Yes, they were all that color,silver poly(12U,12L), with the lower color added by the outside vendor along with the nose,rear window,aerospoiler, etc. I know that there is rumoured to be black ones,dark cherry ones in existence. But much like the Mandarin Orange Can am legend no one has ever produced one with a broadcast sheet,manifest, cowl data tag,etc. showing any color other than silver sold. But sure, anything is possible. The black one I heard of and saw a picture of was found to be a dealer conversion with just the nose and stripe kit added. It had the regular G/P interior and did not have the FE4 suspension package. The dark cherry one I saw was also never documented to be a Pontiac vendor produced conversion, but rather a private owner changing the color.I also suppose it's possible that an early production "brass hat" car was built in another color and maybe that car found it's way into the general public, but again, these cars have remained undocumented and by in large, urban legends.
The history of the 2+2 doesn't lend itself to other colors being produced as it was rushed into production only as an afterthought as to allow Pontiac to compete within Nascars rules about minimum production numbers being produced.It was a mid year offering strictly built to compete with the Monte Carlo SS and Ford Thunderbird's aerodynamic advantage on the Nascar circuit.

But I certainly am not out to change someone's mind about one off cars, I just need documentation to believe it. So to me, all 2+2's were Silver.

This is where I saw it, can't say it is real from Pontiac or a conversion. What color was the development car or cars, could it be one of those?

Yes, that might be the same one. I lightened that picture up but still could not tell if it has the big window and whale tail deck lid.

The pic I saw is of it in front of some big building, and it's a side shot showing the regular notchback window but with that front end.
 
Besides that car, I have always loved the 1973 GTO.
Don't really know why either.
I just love the lines of it.
Not that anyone cares, but today I'm watching Futurarma all day on comedy central. :)
