Theeeee Barn find from michigan

I am amazed that these cars ultra low mileage are not worth that kind of money. They are 25 years old now and the collector car market has been appreciating quite a lot over the last few years. I have heard the various theories over the years and agree with many of them, but am still surprised....

I agree. don't make sense that the buick and gmc competitors are bringing more money even with higher production #'s

You just answered your own question, higher production mean's more exposure which these cars seriously lack, so the main thing that makes them valuable ( low prod.) hurt's them at the same time, soooo the word for today is exposure, get that and the money will follow...ttarider

which gmc the syclone and typhoon owned a typhoon and they are not bringing that much money the tta is bringing more in my opinion and the grand national is pretty even with the tta I think

I don't post here much anymore, since Mom has the TTA now, but I still come here once in a while, and did not notice this thread from last spring.......but all I gotta say is WOW! Not just at the car either.

Merry Christmas to all!

I am pretty sure this is the same car since it shows that it now has 989 miles on it and the pictures included are the same from the original poosting. Nice car, but wonder what the reserve is set at.

Well I guess we finally have an answer as to where this car ended up. Is there any indication weather or not the car is there on consignment? Or has it been sold to this broker. Doesn't matter it's still one of the coolest stories. I cans believe how long it's been. Time flies.

What's weird to me is the GNX is valuable and desirable because the groundwork was laid by the 30k grand nationals that were built. Everyone knew about the 547 limited run of the GNX. Now flip to the trans am. What did they make 300k? Plenty of groundwork right????? So why no knowledge of the tta? I think this question will rank along with who killed Kennedy? Alot of theories no concrete answer. I know for me personally 8 years ago I felt I had a decent knowledge of grand nationals and I never heard of the tta. Still scratching my head.......

I am beginning to think the reason is because it is looked at like a Hybrid by the purist instead of GM finally did something right...honestly i don't give a rat's ass what people think, i like them...:)

I knew about the GNs and GNXs, but honestly the first time I saw a TTA was at a museum/consignment place in Las Vegas. This was in 2009. Never knew they existed before that. But I know that I really liked the car and bought one the following summer.

But folks are even showing the love for those late '70s TA with Olds motors in them...go figure... Technically the motor was a little different...crank, heads, etc so it was unique to Pontiac...hell, the TAs and Camaros of the 80's and 90s and beyond all had the same motors. The unique motors for each of the GM lines ended in the early 80's or sooner.

I think I discovered the TTA when I received an ATR catalog back in the mid 90's sometime and said WTF!?? This was before the internet was in use...or before it was useful LOL!

I was into GN's and knew the Tta was coming. I went to the Detroit auto show in 89 just to check it out. I really wanted one. I couldn't even get close to affording one. I did sit in it at the show. It was a lot more comfortable then.

I first saw the car at the NY auto show at the Javits Center in NYC and knew I wanted one. Long story short I bought my car from a friend who owned it since new. It has 8,500 miles on it and all original. I have all the paper work on the car. It took me almost 20 years to get it from him but I did. The only thing I wondered that could hurt the value is that it has a Buick motor. I know it is still GM but could this hurt the value? Just curious what others think.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Earlier i watched a 78 ann. vett cross at BJ and it got me to thinking, line up all the pace cars and lets see who wins.. hell lets line up every car built from 1969 to now.. how many can out perform the 89' tta that don't cost 100k ? Not many and in the end thats what matters.
