UPDATE ON #77 (PIC HEAVY)

Thanks all its been a fun project so far, between the body of the car and the engine, its a learning experience. I cant wait myself to finally drive her.
 
Looking really good ... I would paint the diff tag black as well or it will rust quickly; they were black from the factory.

Good to hear from you, Robert hope all is well. I wish you would have let me known, I would've just gave them to you. Since one was missing the bottom rubber, and a hose was cut, I just cut them out, and trashed them, sorry.
 
Nice job with the car... I love the pics and updates...

I put the firestone wide ovals on the rear of rayder and love them. Stick great and a great ride too. You can get them in stock size and they also had them in 255 for a little more width, I am gonna get another set and put the 245's on front and 255's on the rear, I think they will look even better. I love the indy wings on the tires for our cars, looks really nice and I also like the tread pattern.

Thanks Kris, i like the way they look too, and priced right. going with 255/50 16 in the back will it throw anything off?

Good question? I am really not sure. I asked the tire guy at firestone, he pointed out the 255's out to me and said they were just a little wider is all and shouldn't make a huge difference..more just looks, I am guessing. I went with the 245's because that is what I had ordered and it would take them another day to get the 255's in.

I wonder what others think here. I am guessing Jan or Jarred would know.
 
I have scoured the internet and can't find the Firestone Wide Oval Indy's in the 255/50/16 size anymore. Maybe they only made them for a while, I got mine about two years ago. There are other tires in this size, but mostly street/race tires it seems.

If you have a chance to get some, I would nab them. Maybe the local Firestone dealer can track some down.

Sounds good just going to stick with the O.E. size, I see alot of people running mickey's, but rains alot here need an over all good tire.

The FireStone Firehawk Indy 500 Wide Oval, stock size. Would have got Mickey's in the back but I will drive her alot, and it rains here even in winter, so needed a good street tire.:burnrubber:
 
Well finally got the wheels back from the powder coater, not really stock color but close as possible. New lug nuts and center caps. She fired right up, new battery tomorrow and boost gauge will be connected. Also started installing the new headliner and sunvisers, and installed the new carpet and some other interior pieces. Been a long wait but interior will be done by this weekend, then need rear exhaust.

Will also be getting new emblems, and decals, she'll be ready for the street next month, then take care of the small glitches. Let me know what yall think.
